NDA: opt in, and keep it narrow
By default, briefings are not under NDA. We would rather you tell us less and let us publish it than tell us more and leave it unusable.
If part of your briefing needs to be confidential, say so on this form and mark it clearly during the call. We record confidentiality on individual items rather than on the whole meeting, so one embargoed roadmap date does not put the rest of the conversation off limits. Confidential items stay out of the Atlas, out of our published research, and out of our client work until you release them or the embargo passes.
One thing worth knowing: we cannot un-hear a disclosure. If you tell us under NDA something we would otherwise have learned publicly, it limits what we can write even after the same fact appears elsewhere. That is the practical reason to keep NDA scope to what genuinely needs it.
On paperwork. We have a standard mutual NDA with a two-year term. If your legal team requires your own form instead, send it with your request and we will work from it. We ask for one thing in either document: confidential material has to be identified as confidential when it is disclosed. A form that treats everything said in a meeting as confidential by default leaves us unable to update your public profile, which is the reason you booked the briefing.

We review challenges against the same five tests as the original call and log the outcome either way, including when we change our mind. We have changed it before and published the change.

What a briefing does and does not do
A briefing improves the accuracy of your profile. It does not improve its favorability.
Nothing about a briefing affects whether your product appears in the Atlas or how it is classified. Inclusion follows published criteria. Classification follows the published Native and Embedded methodology, which anyone can read and apply. Arion Research accepts no payment for inclusion, placement, classification, or profile treatment, and no vendor has ever paid for any of them.
Everything you tell us that we intend to publish goes through the same review queue as a change we find ourselves, and carries the same requirement for cited public sources.
